While researching this topic, I was happy to discover a certain YouTube video of a Capcom-overseen Japanese stage play that features Rebecca Chambers as a science adviser to, and undercover operator for, the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA). In it, Chambers’ character is revealed to have matured significantly since her time as a science prodigy who somehow impressed a SWAT-equivalent team enough to be recruited. Her character is certainly written in the play as more independent, with her own brand of authority to utilize. It is, unfortunately, not currently confirmed as canon to the series. Therefore, all I can really say is that I hope that the character continues to be used and explored, as her greatest qualities appear to have been ignored or completely forgotten. Until then, we will always have the SD Perry novels, fan-fictions and a stage play on YouTube.
